Aslam Sherule

A relentless integrator of business acumen and technical expertise, Aslam has excelled in productively linking business and technology. As a trusted advisor to media, software, telecommunications, and utility companies, he has designed and bolstered Enterprise Architecture Transformations.

Over the last 20 years and on 3 continents, Aslam has gained respect for his expertise in industrial control systems and security management. Beginning his career in the prestigious Engineers India Limited, he served Global-1000 clients in chemicals, energy, manufacturing, oil/gas/petroleum, and telecommunications industries. He has also been an entrepreneur in two technology startups. He helped launch an M2M company and saw it to fruition. He led the winning team of a $66M Smart Grid security project for a large U.S. utility company.

Integrating business planning, operations management, and business dynamics, Aslam has developed fresh methods for strategic and operational planning and systemic execution. He is also part of ConfluCore’s Service Dynamics team.

When serving Verizon in the U.S., Aslam led digital transformations for clients with project sizes of $150M. He pioneered product development in M2M and IoT spaces and supported internal corporate R&D. He was part of the datacenter consolidation and applications migration to the cloud, bringing operational agility and cost savings to the business. His contributions at Verizon have helped boost by orders-of-magnitude the company’s agility, its customer experience, while reducing costs.

Aslam attended the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology at Delhi. Graduating with honors in Electrical Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla, he earned an MBA from Georgia State University, specializing in Accounting and Project Management. He pursued Business & Strategy Dynamics at WPI, and attended Financial Management programs at Harvard University. He lives with his family in Richardson, TX.

Why did you decide to work at Conflucore?

What is the biggest transformation you have been a part of?

I co-led an Enterprise Architecture Transformation project of $250M at Verizon’s consumer unit. Additionally, I co-led the Operating Model Transformation project of $150M at Verizon Enterprise Solutions. These projects spanned multiple years and geographies.

What challenges do you most enjoy helping clients address?

I address harnessing technology smartly to generate superior corporate performance and serve warranted human progress. I am best when I am helping executives grapple with challenges that integrate business needs with technological and cultural understanding.

What do you like doing in free/personal time?

I love walking in the woods and reflecting spiritually and philosophically. I play badminton, watch soccer, and like to meet new people and understand their cultures. Above all, I enjoy creative thinking.
